StarterWebsite Design
A starter website is for nurses who are just starting out and need a website, but the idea of putting one together on their own really fast isn’t appealing. While many templates look nice in the box, once you get started, the whole project can take a dive south if you don’t understand how colors, fonts, images, mood, and copy intersect.
Look professional from the start with a website you will be proud to show off that has everything you need in the beginning. They are professionally designed and built but at an affordable price that you cannot beat or get anywhere else. As your business grows, your website built on WordPress will be able to grow with you.
Starter sites are built from the style template and theme you choose. I pack a ton of value into your site and give you the elements you need to be successful from the start.

- You are responsible for domain purchase and hosting fees. I strongly recommend Siteground.com with the Managed WordPress Hosting package “StartUp”. I will need login/password access to your domain and hosting provider(s). (Getting them both from the same provider to save time and money, though it’s not critical). I will also work with Bluehost, NameCheap, HostGator or Google. If you choose a different provider and I am delayed or unable to launch your site, I will not continue your project until you have switched hosting to one of these providers.
- If you have an existing site and your domain and/or hosting is owned by someone else – such as a previous designer, a friend or a family member, and I am not allowed access to those accounts, you will need to transfer to accounts owned by you that I can access. Some providers do allow collaborator accounts and I can work though that. I must have access to DNS settings and the cPanel/site files. I will not use an FTP client at this time; I need direct access.
- Scheduling calendars, Email Opt-ins and campaigns, and social media accounts require separate platforms purchased by you (such as Acuity Scheduling and ActiveCampaign).
- Once work has begun, there are no refunds.
- Sites typically take about 3 weeks from launch to handoff. Timeline may be delayed if deadlines are missed.
- Launch and completion dates will be determined by my receipt of all needed items: Business and Contact info; Domain and Hosting access; Branding Kit (brand board); Images (I will help with these); Website Layout choice; Copywriting.
- You will submit feedback within a timely manner; please know that missed deadlines will delay your project, possibly significantly depending on my project load.
- Your satisfaction is paramount! I offer revisions each step of the way, within reasonable limits.
- I will treat you with grace and curtesy, offering the best service I can. I expect the same from you. Neither of us knows how to run the other’s business – it’s why we need each other! – so please trust me as your designer on design and marketing-related advice. That said, I will do my best to find a way to make your requests work!
During our consultation, you’ll share your vision for your business. We’ll talk about branding, messaging, mood and content. Don’t worry, you’ll get a questionnaire that will help you refine your thoughts and I’ll guide you every step of the way.
Your brand is your first impression. Let’s make it good!
Your brand kit is your color palette, font selection, “mood” board and logo. I offer branding as part of your web package – a really great value! You’ll receive high quality image files of your unique color palette, font selection, and a uniquely designed logo and favicon. You even have easy access to all of your assets, any time, through your own private portal!
As part of your branding, I can design your logo if you need one. Your logo represents your business; it should be eye-catching and easy to remember, but speak your message and mood in one image. That’s a tall order! Your favicon (“favorite icon”) is the icon that represents your business – usually taken from your logo. Think the Nike “swoosh” or the American Red Cross’s red cross. I will help you come up with just the right logo and favicon.
Your message is your lasting impression. It’s even more important than branding. You have 8-15 seconds to grab a potential clients’ attention; to keep it, they have to be engaged. I do this through story. Your client is the hero of their story; you are their guide. They want to know how you’re going to solve their problem and why they should choose you. That’s your message, and I help you craft it.
Starter sites do not include full custom copywriting. I will provide a template to help you write your copy. You do not need to be a great writer! What I need is info on your clients’ problems and how you solve them, specifics on your services, and a bit about you/your company. I will edit and polish it to make it beautiful and capture clients! Professional copywriting available for $300 additional.
You (or I, if you prefer) will choose a predesigned layout, and I then customize it to your branding and content. Your copy, images and branding will make a unique site just for you.
Your site build includes custom embellishments, bullet points and icons. This means I custom create these things for your site. For example, your services can each have a related image or icon and these will be branded and created for uniquely for you.
These things are optional, but great additions to your website are FAQs specific to your services, testimonials from your clients, a bio picture (professional or candid), a blog and/or newsletter, and an email opt-in and/or a lead magnet. These items are your responsibility to obtain or create, and I will add them to your site. (I do offer services to create lead magnets, set up email campaigns and opt-ins and write blog posts/newsletters.)
Your package includes integration of systems like your scheduler/ERM, email opt-ins, lead magnets, social media links and the like. It does not include setup of these systems and platforms (though I can help with those as additional projects!) but I will integrate them with your site for a great user experience, and better marketing for you!
Your site build includes basic SEO optimization using Yoast SEO and image management. I also run optimization on images and other site assets to make sure your site runs smoothly and pages load quickly. Most importantly, I format your pages to look great on computer screens, tablets and phones alike – as most people today view websites on their phones, this is a must!
Each step of the process has limited revisions, generally up to 3. Limits are specified in your contract. For branding and logo, I will send you initial drafts; once a design is chosen, we can do up to 2 rounds of revisions. For the website, I will send you the design to review; once approved and the site is built, we’ll have up to 3 rounds of revisions. The same is true for copy: after your consult you will have 3 revisions.
Please note that the initial design process may be limited at my discretion; if I can not provide you a satisfactory initial draft after a few tries, I may not be the right designer for you. I want nothing more than the best for you, so in such a circumstance we will work to come to an agreement on how to proceed.
You have access to two portals: one for your account and one for branding. Your account portal (through Dubsado) gives you access to all contracts, forms, invoices and other info you need for your projects. Your branding portal (through Brandy) gives you anytime-access to your logos, brand board, colors, and fonts. You can download these at any time in various file formats, without waiting on me to respond to your requests! Even if I didn’t design your logo or branding, as part or your package I can store these for you to access.
As part of your package, you will have Privacy Policy and Terms of Use pages for all the legal stuff your site needs. I can also add a disclaimer to your footer as needed. Or, if you have your own legal info I can put that on your site instead.
On handoff, I send you a PDF on maintaining and updating your WordPress website. I give you basic training in using WordPress and Divi so that you can make text edits, swap images, and maintain your site. You also have access to the resource library for further education if you desire it!
I provide continued support for 2 weeks after handoff. This includes editing errors, adding services, tweaking copy or swapping images. It does not include major design changes. After the two weeks, I offer the Website Care Plan for ongoing support, plus maintenance and updates. Read more here.
Custom Website Design
Customized websites are more time-intensive and require a lot of strategies to nail down what it is that you need your website to do. I will customize your site into a unique one-of-a kind design. Custom branding, logo design and personalized copywriting (an incredible value most site builders don’t offer!) are included.
These websites are perfect for existing businesses who know their current website is no longer working for them and they need a serious upgrade.

I or my copywriter will then write your copy to make it beautiful and capture clients!

Website Redesign
Have an existing website that isn’t working for you? If your content is good but you hate the design, the flow isn’t working, or it’s just not “you”, let me redesign it the way YOU want it.
I’ll use your existing content and give your site the professional makeover it needs. Rebranding and copyediting included as needed.
Please note that if your site is not built on WordPress using Divi or Elementor, I will likely rebuild it using these platforms. There are many platforms out there and they are not all created equal; to provide you with a quality product that is flexible for design and easy for you to maintain, I choose to use only WordPress with Divi (or Elementor, if you own a license). I also must have access to your domain and hosting; if these are owned by another party, I will require access or you will need to transfer to your own providers.
Investment – starting at $500, dependent on amount of content and anticipated length of proect.
